Thank you. The wide fern-like feelers belong to the males of the species. Used to track down the females.

Yes, he is. And unfortunately the fluff comes off way too easily... so he's fluffy for only a few days. And then it's like he goes mad and batters all the fluff off of himself completely... all to attract the females.

I cheated slightly, though. I have horrible depth of field with my current macro lens. So what I do is shoot 'two' pictures and combine the best parts that are in focus of both. Lots of detailed work and it doesn't always turn out... but this one, fortunately, did.
